Coach Muir has been coaching baseball and softball for 20 years, and currently manages the 18U Gold, in the NW Bullets organization. The NW Bullets has had 69 graduating seniors and of those 69 all of them have received some form of a scholarship and played in college. At the Gold level the Bullets have had seven top 20 finishes, including placing 5th at the 2009 ASA Gold Nationals and 12th at the PGF Gold Nationals in 2011. In 2015 Coach Muir led the Bullets to its first Triple Crown National Championship.
After eight seasons in the Lincoln HS program, including stints as head coach in 2006, Coach Muir stepped down as head coach after a successful run with winning a school record of 24 games &reaching softball semi-finals in 2013.
Prior to softball, Coach Muir was a baseball coach at the American Legion and JBO levels. He made the switch when his two daughters began playing softball competitively and both daughters have gone on to play softball at the college level. Prior to his coaching, Coach Muir played college baseball for Jack Dunn at Portland State University, which at the time was in the PAC-10 North athletic conference.
As a coach, Dennis’ mission is to help young student athletes to learn life lessons needed to be successful through his passion of softball. His results illustrate he is a success in his mission.
